Introducing IlluminFx Fiber Optic Lighting for Ponds
|
Pontz Landscape Service, Inc. has specialized in the installation of outdoor low voltage lighting for many years and we are
now pleased to be the first company in our area to offer the latest in lighting technology to our customers. Fiber optic
lighting for ponds and water features has arrived.
If you have a pond, pondless waterfall or any type of water feature and would like to greatly enhance it’s beauty at night,
consider fiber optic lighting. You can light up areas of your pond that you can’t light with traditional underwater low
voltage lighting.
Our Favorite Plants:
Learn about and see photos of some our favorite trees,
shrubs, perennials, etc., that you can use in your
landscape. Through our many years of experience in
landscaping these plants are proven winners and are
among our many favorites..
The Illuminfx Fiber Optic Pond Lighting system consists of a specialized light source enclosed in a box called and
“illuminator”. Up to sixteen individual fiber optic lighting cables are bundled together at one end and terminate in front of
the light source inside the “illuminator”.
Light is transmitted into the common end of the fiber optic cables and out the other end, illuminating whatever the
designer specifies. Illuminfx fixtures may be positioned underwater, next to the water, out of the water, between rocks or
virtually anywhere one wishes to place them.
A diachronic glass color wheel is placed between the light source and the input end of the fiber optic harness, giving the
user the ability to change the color of the light. The wheel may be stopped at one color (white, blue, green or magenta) or
it may rotate continuously from color to color.
Illuminfx Fiber Optic Lighting is sold as lighting kits which include an illuminator with a four color wheel, pre-cut,
pre-assembled fiber optic lighting harness and a designated number of fixtures. The kits are available in four, eight,
twelve and sixteen fixture kits. Custom designed kits are also available in any length combination, maximum cable length
of fifty feet.
The Illuminfx AQ-2000 series kits include a 250 watt quartz halogen illuminator with a rated lamp life of four hundred to
seven hundred hours.
The Illuminfx AQ-6000 series kits include a 150 watt metal halide illuminator with a rated lamp life of six thousand hours.
The cost of the installation of a fiber optic lighting system is comparable to that of a low voltage lighting system. If you
would like a quote for the installation of an Illuminfx lighting system for your pond, give our office a call and if you would
like to see or learn more about this technologically advanced lighting system, be sure to stop by our display at the Building
Industry Association of Lancaster County, Spring Home Builders Show at Franklin and Marshall College, Alumni Building
Friday, March 18 through Sunday, March 20.
Some advantages and features of fiber optic lighting :
*Small fixtures - Illuminfx fixtures are about one half inch diameter at the widest point and are around the size of a ball
point pen. They are very easy to place and hide virtually anywhere in and around the pond.
*Hassle free - Just one light bulb is able to illuminate up to sixteen separate light fixtures placed in and around the pond.
Once they are placed, there is no need to wade back into the water to change a light bulb; the light bulb is located outside
the pond in an easily accessible location.
*Koi and fish friendly - No electricity, heat or UV rays passes through the cables.
*Color change option - each system includes a four color rotating wheel allowing the user to specify white, green,
magenta or blue light. The wheel can be left on a specific color or you can let the wheel gently rotate through the color
changes.
