After eight years of producing our company newsletter, What's Growing
On?
,  the printed version comes to end.  Our newsletter will continue on
here, at our newly redesigned and expanded web site.  We have found
that most of our customers and readers own computers or have access
to one and have access to the Internet, so it seemed logical to move to an
online newsletter.  With the rising costs of printing and postage the
decision was made even easier.  This new format will allow us to provide
the same content as before as well as more information, new features,
and more color photos.   An online newsletter also allows us the
opportunity to reach more people without the need to be added to our
mailing list.
Our printed newsletter as it
appeared for eight years
As before, our plan is to continue
producing a new issue of our
newsletter four times a year.  If
possible, we hope to provide updates
more frequently so check back often.
Also, be sure to check out our News
and Events page on our web site for
more useful information.   Please feel
free to drop us an email using the link
below with comments or suggestions
on how we may improve our
newsletter or what you would like to
see in a future issues.   Thank you for
visiting our new online version of
What's Growing On?, we hope you
enjoy it.

Pontz Landscape Service, Inc. recently
provided the entrance display for the
third straight year at the Long's Park
Art and Craft Festival.  This festival,
held annually over the Labor Day
weekend at Long's Park in Lancaster,
Pennsylvania,  is one of the top rated
shows of its kind in the country.  Our
display once again featured a small
fish pond and a variety of colorful
plants to great visitors as they entered
the festival.  The fish pond acted as a
"wishing well" with all the proceeds to
be donated to the Long's Park
Foundation.  We would like to thank the
organizers of the Long's Park Arts and
Craft Festival for inviting us to
participate.

Good Deeds, Sweet Rewards Program Winner Selected:
Pontz Landscape Service would like to congratulate Alex Giagnocavo,
our latest "Good Deeds, Sweet Rewards' program winner.  Just before
our annual water garden tour was to begin, six year old Alex asked his
mother if he could set up a lemonade stand in front of his house in an
effort to raise some money for Ian Swarr.  Five year old Ian was the
recipient of this years pond tour proceeds.  He suffers from a very rare
skin disorder called Epidermolysis Bullosa, more commonly known as
E.B.

As a result of Alex’s efforts, he was able to raise $16.75 to benefit the
Ian Swarr Fund.  Also, because of his good deed, we have selected
Alex to be one of our Good Deeds, Sweet Rewards Program winners.
As such, he received a framed “Good Deeds, Sweet Rewards”
certificate, a congratulatory letter and a gift certificate to Friendly’s Ice
Cream.  CONGRATULATIONS ALEX!  GREAT JOB!  All of us at Pontz
Landscape Service, Inc. are very proud of you and we know your
parents are too.  Alex is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Alan Giagnacavo, 1409
Chadwyck Lane, Manheim.
6th Annual Benefit Pond Tour is a Success
Our 6th Annual Benefit Pond Tour, held Saturday, July 24th, was a great success once again with approximately one
hundred thirty people turning out to participate in the tour.  Proceeds from tickets and our raffle enabled us to donate
$1500.00 to the Ian Swarr Fund.  Although the weather did not look to promising in the early morning, by mid morning
the sun was out and we ended up with a beautiful day.

We would like to say thank you to everyone who attended this year's tour and congratulations to our raffle and door
prizes winners.  The first door prize, "frog on a leaf' fountain, was won by Gayle Heagy of Dover, PA., the second door
prize, a hummingbird sculpture, was won by Mrs. Iehle of Ephrata, PA, and the third prize, a floating candle, went to
Linda Esbenshade of Lancaster, PA.   The winner of our raffle for a Henri Studios, Inc. fountain was Dale Stoe of
Mountville, PA.

Finally, Pontz Landscape Service, Inc. would like to say THANK YOU to all our customers who so graciously agreed to
take part in this year's tour and allow us to feature their water gardens.  We very much appreciate your participation.
